Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County Awards $10,000 to
HBA Family Scholarship Recipients
Raleigh-Wake County, NC - The Home Builders Association (HBA) of Raleigh-Wake County is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2026 HBA Family Scholarships, awarding a total of $10,000 to four outstanding students. The recipients were selected based on their significant contributions to their schools and communities, along with their demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Eddie Kubiak, Son of Ed Kubiak of Higharc, and lives in Raleigh, N.C.
Eddie has a 3.3 GPA at North Raleigh Christian Academy and has been accepted to East Carolina University and plans to major in Construction Management. He has worked and volunteered in the construction field and completed an internship this summer with Epcon Communities. He is also an active member of the HBA’s Wake County Student Chapter and was a part of this years’ winning team for the NAHB Student Competition at the International Builders Show.
Turner Leatham, son of Erica Leatham of Epcon Communities, and lives in Cary, NC.
Turner has a 4.1 GPA at Panther Creek High School and has been accepted to UNC Charlotte and N.C State. He plans to make a decision soon and will study Sports Management. Turner’s interest includes sports as he plays on several teams throughout the year. His teachers describe him as polite, respectful, and eager to help others.
Tully Martinez, is a part of our Student Chapter organization and is sponsored by Ed Kubiak. Tully also lives in Raleigh.
Tully has a 3.4 GPA at North Raleigh Christian Academy and will attend East Carolina University in the fall and plans to major in Construction Management. He is a charter member of the Wake County Student Chapter and was on the HBA’s winning Student Competition Team for the NAHB Student Competition at the International Builders Show.
Henry J. Morris, son of Henry Morris of HJ Morris Construction, Inc., and lives in Raleigh, NC.
Henry has a 4.0 GPA at Cardinal Gibbons High School and plans to study Business and HVAC to become an HVAC technician then business owner one day. Henry is interested in sports and helps foster dogs for military owners. His teachers describe him as friendly, hardworking, and kind.
The HBA Family Scholarship selection criteria include a strong contribution to the school/community (60%), leadership capabilities (20%), and GPA/Class Rank/SAT (20%). Applicants must be the child or grandchild of a current HBA of Raleigh-Wake County member, be a graduating high school senior, and plan to attend college, university, or trade school beginning in the fall semester of 2026.
