Alex Yost President

Alex Yost is a founding Partner at Exeter Building Company.  Exeter is a Wake County custom builder and Alex is uniquely concerned about issues affecting local builders, trade partners and the businesses that support the industry.
Alex’s involvement with the HBA began with the Government Affairs Committee, where the HBA enables the membership to interact with local authorities to build relationships, understand focus areas and work through challenges together. With the formation of the HBA Charitable Foundation Board, Alex joined the board to actively find ways to improve workforce development.
Alex has been in the triangle for 40 years and is a graduate of Duke University. His career started in Technology and included roles managing businesses in The United States, Asia and Canada.

Mikkel Thompson

Past President

Mikkel Thompson has always had a passion for the homebuilding industry and developing teams of people to accomplish great things. Mikkel joined the homebuilding industry in 2004 starting with Toll Brothers in Brier Creek Country Club. Under Toll’s structure, he learned the disciplines of sales, land development, land acquisition and construction. He has worked at Pulte for 18 years and is currently the Vice President of Construction Operations for PulteGroup, Inc with responsibility for the Raleigh and Triad markets.   
Upon graduating from West Point in 1997, he served seven years Active Duty in the Army as a Blackhawk pilot. His passion for the military continues now as he Chairs the Board for Operation Coming Home, a 501c3 organization run in conjunction with the HBA of Raleigh-Wake County. He joined the Board for the non-profit in 2015 and under the Centex brand built three homes for disabled veterans and two Gold Star families. The organization will deliver its 30th home in the summer of 2026.
Outside of his OCH involvement, Mikkel joined the Raleigh-Wake HBA Board of Directors in 2019. He was presented the Builder Member of the Year in 2020. Mikkel also serves on the East Carolina University Advisory Board for the Construction Management program.
Mikkel is married to his high-school sweetheart, Melanie Thompson, and they have five children: Carter a 2LT in the Army, Collin at West Point, Keni at Clemson, Gia and Emme. He is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hunting, fishing, boating, and spending time with the family.

Amanda Hoyle

Amanda Hoyle is Director of Land Acquisition for Tri Pointe Homes’ Raleigh homebuilding division where she is responsible for the growth and expansion of Tri Pointe's land and housing lot opportunities for new residential development projects in central North Carolina.
Prior to joining Tri Pointe in 2021, Amanda spent 16 years as a senior real estate journalist and research analyst for Triangle Business Journal and another four years as regional director for Zonda, a housing market research and advisory firm. She remains an adviser and administrator for TBJ’s quarterly commercial real estate SPACE report that provides comprehensive commercial real estate market data for the Raleigh-Durham region.
Amanda has been a member of the HBA of Raleigh-Wake County board of directors since 2019 and also serves on the board of directors for Triangle Community Coalition, a strategic partner organization that advocates for smart land-use policy initiatives across the Triangle region. She is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and lives in Raleigh with her husband Brian, their two children, Isla and Baxter, plus two labradoodle brothers, Charlie and Dougal.

Lisa Baldwin brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the New Homes industry, most recently serving as the Director of Sales for Epcon Communities Raleigh homebuilding region. With a career spanning 20+ years in new home sales leadership and 32 years in the new home industry, Lisa began her journey in January 1994 as an on-site sales agent for Anderson/Dave Servoss Homes.
Actively engaged in industry leadership, Lisa has been a valuable member of the HBA of Raleigh-Wake County board of directors since 2021.  She has contributed to various committees and assumed leadership roles, including Membership and MAME Chair, currently serving as Chair for the Charitable Foundation.
Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Lisa has received multiple awards from the Triangle Sales and Marketing Council, notably achieving Sales Manager of the Year in 2023.  Lisa's educational background includes a degree in Business Management, Certified Sales Professional credentials, and licensure as a North/South Carolina Real Estate licensee.  
Beyond her industry involvement, Lisa has a passion for writing, enjoys traveling and shopping, and appreciates great cuisine, especially when shared through new experiences and cultures.

With more than 22 years of experience in the mortgage industry, Kimberly is a respected leader and trusted authority known for delivering strategic, reliable mortgage solutions. Her career is rooted in a deep commitment to serving active-duty military members and veteran homebuyers, ensuring those who serve our country receive informed, thoughtful guidance through the VA loan process. She is equally passionate about new construction lending, where her collaborative approach and industry knowledge support builders in achieving efficient, successful outcomes. Kimberly also takes pride in empowering first-time homebuyers with clarity, confidence, and a strong foundation for long-term homeownership.
Kimberly is recognized for her decisive leadership style, clear communication, and consistent delivery of on-time closings. She approaches each transaction with precision and accountability, creating a high-trust experience for clients while strengthening long-standing partnerships with builders and industry professionals. Her ability to anticipate challenges and drive solutions has positioned her as a go-to resource within the building and lending communities.
A dedicated advocate for the homebuilding industry, Kimberly is actively involved with the Home Builders Association and is honored to serve on its Executive Committee. She brings a strategic, service-oriented perspective to her leadership, focused on advancing collaboration, supporting members, and contributing to the long-term strength and growth of the industry. She leads with authenticity, intention, and a deep respect for the role builders play in shaping strong communities.
Outside of her professional commitments, Kimberly maintains an active lifestyle through travel, fitness, live music and sporting events, exploring new recipes in the kitchen, and community involvement. She places high value on family and close friends - particularly time spent with her niece and nephew - and enjoys recharging outdoors with her black lab, Scout. Kimberly approaches life with the same energy, purpose, and commitment that define her career.

Cristina Baker handles Sales & Operations for WALTER magazine, a premier luxury lifestyle publication in Raleigh and the official publisher of the Parade of Homes Book. With over 15 years of experience in the advertising industry, Cristina brings a wealth of expertise and passion to her role.

Her involvement with the Home Builders Association (HBA) began through the Parade of Homes Committee, where WALTER magazine became the official Media Partner of the event. In 2021, Cristina was honored as Rookie of the Year and later joined the HBA Board of Directors in 2022. As Co-Chair of the Communications Committee in 2024, she played a key role in elevating the Association's presence through social media. That same year, Cristina was named Chairperson of the Year for her outstanding contributions.

Cristina holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and an MBA in Business Marketing from East Carolina University. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and playing tennis.

Danielle serves as Director of Business Development at Snover Contracting, where she leads growth initiatives and strategic partnerships within the roofing industry. In 2025, she chaired the Communications Committee and helped guide the Association’s social media efforts, contributing to HBA Wake being recognized with the Best Social Media award at the NCHBA STARS Awards. That same year, Danielle was honored as a Presidential Award recipient.

Danielle holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Communication from East Carolina University and is originally from Lumberton, North Carolina. A proud member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, she brings a strategic and collaborative approach to leadership and is committed to strengthening the future of the building industry.

Outside of work and volunteer service, Danielle enjoys thrifting, exploring new coffee shops, cheering on Duke basketball, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She is engaged, and together they share two children.

Tom Anhut

In 2014 Tom founded Anhut Properties, a residential land acquisition and development firm, leveraging his 20 years of new home construction industry experience.  With his partner Jim Adams, they created 18 luxury new home communities consisting of almost 900 lots, with homes built by the area’s pre-eminent custom home builders.  In both 2018 and 2021 they were recognized as Developers of the Year by the Raleigh/Wake Homebuilders Association.
Prior to that, Tom was the Raleigh Division President for both Toll Brothers and Ashton Woods Homes for a total of 14 years.  In 1999 he relocated to Raleigh to develop Toll’s $700 million Brier Creek Country Club community, consisting of over 1,400 homes surrounding $27 million in amenities and featuring an Arnold Palmer Signature golf course.  In 2010, Tom negotiated Toll’s purchase out of foreclosure of the Triangle’s highest-end residential golf course community, Hasentree, and reset the project to become one of the top selling in the area.  Under his leadership, Tom’s new home divisions in Raleigh delivered almost 2,500 luxury homes, representing $1.3 billion in revenue.  At Toll, he was also promoted to Group President responsible for overseeing the company’s operations in the Carolinas and Georgia, comprised of new home divisions in Raleigh, Charlotte, Atlanta, and Hilton Head, and including 4 golf course communities.  
Tom joined Toll Brothers in1995 as a Project Manager in the Philadelphia area and was promoted to Vice President in less than 5 years.  Prior to that he worked for Ryland Homes as a site superintendent, as a Realtor in Alexandria Virginia, and before that spent 9 years as an officer in the US Army Corps of Engineers, stationed in Italy, Saudi Arabia, Boston, and in northern Virginia 3 separate times.  Tom graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1984.
Tom has also been involved in both civic and professional groups including Habitat for Humanity and the USO and serving on the Executive Committee (six times) and Board of Directors (22 years) for the Homebuilders Association of Raleigh/Wake County, the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, the Triangle Community Coalition (Chairman twice), the Urban Land Institute, and Operation Coming Home.  He is a founder and co-chair since 2006 of the Raleigh Development Services Advisory Committee and has served on several Wake County and City of Raleigh boards and task forces.  In 2023 he was inducted into the Raleigh/Wake County HBA Hall of Fame and in 2024 was awarded the TCC’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
Tom was born into a family of nine children and grew up in Ypsilanti, Michigan.  He and his wife Theresa have been married for over 39 years and have 3 adult children and four grand puppies!
