A group of high school students just returned from Orlando as national champions, beating teams from across the country in a construction management competition at the International Builders' Show.

What makes this even more remarkable is that this was the first year of our NAHB Student Chapter and it is the first-ever county-wide high school chapter of its kind in the country.

In just a few month, students from multiple Wake County high schools came together, formed a team, and won 1st place in the nation in the Secondary Schools - Construction Management Division.

At a time when workforce development and interest in the skilled trades are major conversations nationwide, these students are a powerful local success story.
